Randy McKinney, regional developer of Realty Executives MidSouth, headquartered in Gulf Shores, Alabama, was installed as Regional Vice President for Region 5 for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) on November 12 at the annual NAR Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Region 5 includes Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Kim Bunn with Realty Executives Huntsville recognizes connection between a strong community & volunteering

In an article published in The Huntsville Times on Sunday, the importance between community involvement and the quality of life in that community is highlighted. The article discusses how real estate agents are unfeigned in their remarks concerning the quality of life in the Huntsville area. To them, its not a sales pitch..."it's the real deal". Real estate agents put in long hours to makes sure their community is legitimately a great place to live.

Kim Bunn, a Realtor with Realty Executives and board member for the Volunteer Center of Madison County, recognizes the importance of volunteering for her community.

"I do all these things because I believe in order to have a strong community, we must all get involved," Bunn says. "I am so grateful to be involved with each one of these organizations. I have learned so much about planning a black tie event, about helping people in tough situations and about making people feel comfortable. I'm giving about 15 hours per week to my community, but I gain so much more in return."

Kim is an ambassador for the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce as well as chairs the Father of the Year effort to honor outstanding fathers. She also is an active volunteer with Still Serving Veterans. She speaks with veterans who have returned to the community, or those having a hard time adjusting. She goes on to say, "I'm by no means an expert, but just a friendly face who can listen and maybe offer some encouragement."

MidSouth active on NAR board

Our regional director, Randy McKinney, is set to hold a position of distinction on the national Realtor board. He will be inducted as the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Regional Vice President for 2008 at the upcoming NAR Convention in Las Vegas. He will represent Region 5, which includes Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U. S. Virgin Islands. McKinney has held numerous other positions on the board of Realtors including serving as president of the Alabama Association of Realtors (AAR) in 2005, where he helped facilitate fundraising for the Gulf States affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Dinges to Serve as 2008 AAR President

Sherry Dinges, associate broker for Realty Executives in Huntsville, Alabama, was inducted last Tuesday, September 18 as the 2008 President of the Alabama Association of REALTORS (AAR). AAR held the President's Banquet Tuesday night at their 2007 Annual Convention at the Edgewater Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Sherry is a past president of the Huntsville Association of REALTORS®. Also in 2007, she served as Chair of the Governmental & Political Affairs Committee and as a member on various local and state committees. Sherry is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) and has served as the 1991 State Secretary of WCR. She is also a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and has served as the 1995 President of the State Chapter of CRS. While selling over 130 homes last year, she has remained active in AAR and other associations.

Kaiser Wins Prestigious Community Award

Anthony Kaiser, broker/owner of Realty Executives Gulf Coast in Gulf Shores, Alabama, was awarded the Walton M. Vines 2007 Free Enterprise Award. The honor began 30 years ago by Vines to recognize local business leaders who have also made a positive impact in the community.

"Anthony Kaiser was chosen as the Walton M. Vines 2007 Free Enterprise Person of the year because of his hard work, determination, adaptability, persistence, commitment and vision," said John Schaff, 2006 award winner.
